Coronavirus: HBO audience growth U.S. 2020
Despite the negative impact of the coronavirus on markets around the world, SVoD companies could see an increase in their subscriber bases and an uptick in usage, and may potentially even benefit from the many streaming fans in the U.S. and around the world who are self-isolating at home. HBO reported that movie viewing on the platform was up by 70 percent from its four-week average, and some of the service's popular shows saw an audience increase of over 50 percent. Daily binge viewing of multiple episodes also increased from the last four weeks as of the date of survey, with audiences watching three or more episodes per day increasing by 65 percent from the average.
